Warmland Women's Support Services Society acknowledges the unceded Quw'utsun Hwulmuhw territories. Settler Ally’s commited to providing services that acknowledge how colonization as a non-consensual action has created a culture of non-consent contributing to sexualized violence against women, and how the patriarchal system of colonial governance imposed upon Indigenous communities through The Indian Act usurped the traditional values of women in positions of responsible power and leadership creating a legacy of violence against Aboriginal women.
With 10 Tiny houses in the path of TMX’s Trans Mountain Pipeline, Tiny House Warriors reside on Secwepemc Land- which continues to be in land dispute as Indigenous Protectors are criminalized for practicing Secwepemc culture and keeping one another safe. Secwepemc peoples are not to be included in a blanket injunction as they act as a distinct nation, and have the rights and titles of a sovereign nation on unceded indigenous territory.
The presence of man camps from the TMX pipeline continues to terrorize community members and land protectors- TMX workers use extreme intimidation tactics and unlawful surveillance, they blockade community members from resources such as clean water and there are numerous instances of sexualized violence and abduction- furthering the continuous grief of indigenous communities and the search for MMIWG2S.
